In Dutch we call it: “Shitzooi”

on my way back

Wondering what to do with all the new time not doing any volunteer work, I found myself walking from one emergency room to another. Too much anticoagulation and my bowels starts to bleed, too little and my brain stops to function..

Then another problem appeared. A shortness of breath, nice if you want to visit an emergency room in the Corona time zone. A CT scan was ordered but Corona took over. All the hospitals were closed except for those who had a heart attack.

So my CT scan was postponed. A pity otherwise they would have seen a bacteria was growing rapidly in my chest. Now they missed it until I was so short of breath that even the normal oxygen from the hospital wall was not enough.

Doctors decided to bring me to the intensive care unit and start intubation to save my life. I was out for a period of two weeks. Slowly waking up with a complete wracked up body. The rest of the story is simple. It’s time to recover completely and learn how to walk again.

I stay intern at a rehabilitation clinic in a beautiful seaside location. It is almost holiday! Working hard to get my body and mind in shape and find useful solutions for the rest of my life. There still is a rest!
